Industrial Foregoing

Automate Everything.
Industrial Foregoing is a machine mod for farms, mob grinders and void mining, and it runs on plastic. A Fluid Extractor drains latex from logs, a Latex Processing Unit turns it into Dry Rubber, and a furnace makes that Plastic. From there the machines climb four tiers of frames, up to the Laser Drill for ores and the Mob Duplicator for mob farms.

Getting started: latex, rubber and plastic
Most machines need plastic, so the first job is a latex line. Craft a Pity Machine Frame from four logs, four iron ingots and a block of redstone. The first machines are built around it.
- Place a Fluid Extractor with its back against a log. A machine faces you when you place it, so look at the log as you do. Several extractors can share one log.
- Pipe the latex into a Latex Processing Unit and give it water. 750 mB of latex and 500 mB of water make one Dry Rubber.
- Smelt the Dry Rubber into Plastic in any furnace.
Logs differ. Acacia and mangrove give 4 mB of latex a cycle, cherry and dark oak 3, oak, birch, spruce and jungle 2, and any other log 1. Power is optional: a powered extractor works every 2 seconds instead of every 5, and makes three times the latex each time. Now and then the log wears out and turns into a stripped log, which gives 1 mB a cycle until it is used up too.
ATM10 removes Industrial Foregoing's own gear recipes, so the gears its machines ask for come from All The Ores: four gold ingots around an iron nugget make a Gold Gear, and the same shape in iron or diamonds makes an Iron Gear or a Diamond Gear. Oritech's Plastic Sheet also counts in the many recipes that accept any plastic.
Machine frames and the Dissolution Chamber
Every machine is built around a frame, and the frame's tier decides what you can make. Only the Pity frame comes from a crafting table. The other three are made in the Dissolution Chamber, which takes up to eight items and one fluid, in any slot order.
- Pity
- Four logs, four iron ingots and a block of redstone. The Fluid Extractor, Latex Processing Unit, Dissolution Chamber, the Pitiful and Biofuel Generators, the Mob Slaughter Factory and the basic farms.
- Simple
- A Pity frame, two plastic, two nether bricks, two iron ingots and a gold gear, with 250 mB of latex. The Laser Drill, Hydroponic Bed and Plant Fertilizer.
- Advanced
- A Simple frame, two plastic, two netherite scrap, two gold ingots and a diamond gear, with 500 mB of pink slime. The Mob Crusher, Mob Duplicator, both laser bases, the Stasis Chamber and the Infinity Charger.
- Supreme
- An Advanced frame, two plastic, two netherite ingots, two diamonds and a diamond gear, with 135 mB of ether gas. The Wither Builder, the Mycelial Reactor and, in ATM10, the Soul Laser Base.
The Dissolution Chamber is itself a Pity machine: two plastic, a wooden chest, two buckets, two gold ingots and a diamond gear around the frame. Once its slots hold a whole recipe it locks them, so a pipe cannot push in anything else. The Advanced frame needs pink slime; the pink slime section below says where it comes from.
Addons: speed, efficiency, processing and range
Addons go into a machine's addon slots and are made in the Dissolution Chamber with 1,000 mB of latex: two redstone, two glass panes, two gears (gold for tier 1, diamond for tier 2) and two of the addon's own item.
- Speed
- Two sugar. Tier 1 makes the machine work twice as fast, tier 2 three times.
- Efficiency
- Two blaze rods. Each cycle is 10% shorter at tier 1 and 20% shorter at tier 2. On Transporters it moves more per transfer.
- Processing
- A furnace and a crafting table. The machine does two operations per cycle at tier 1, three at tier 2.
- Range
- Twelve tiers, 0 to 11, from four cobblestone up to four emeralds. Each tier widens a machine's working area by one block. Not every machine takes them, and tier 11 goes into most Infinity tools.
ATM10 adds More Industrial Foregoing Addons, with tiers 3 and 4 of speed, efficiency and processing. Tier 3 takes the tier 2 addon, ancient debris, netherite scrap and a netherite gear, with 3,000 mB of pink slime. Tier 4 takes tier 3, sculk and an echo shard, with 4,000 mB of liquid experience. At tier 4 a machine works five times as fast, cycles 40% shorter or does five operations a cycle. The add-on's tiers 5 to 8 are removed in this pack. It also lets a tier 1 addon stand in for one of the diamond gears of its tier 2 recipe.
Laser Drill: ores and fluids by dimension
The Laser Drill makes ores and fluids out of nothing, with the help of a base: an Ore Laser Base for items or a Fluid Laser Base for fluids. The drill sends power to the base, and the base produces.
- Place the base, then a Laser Drill two blocks away with its back toward the base. It finds a base anywhere in the 3 by 3 by 3 space centred two blocks behind it.
- Power the drill. Each drill adds one point to the base every 2.5 seconds for 1,000 FE. An Ore Laser Base needs 100 points per item and a Fluid Laser Base 20 per batch, so ring one base with several drills.
- Put lenses in the base and type the depth to mine at in its window. The depth starts at the base's own Y level.
- Pipe the output away. The Ore Laser Base stops when its 15 output slots are full.
What comes out depends on where the base stands and the depth you set. Each ore has a weight for a range of depths, in some dimensions or biomes, and the base picks one at random by weight. The Ore Laser Base has six lens slots, and each lens of an ore's colour adds 8 to that ore's weight. Outside the End, most ores also have a small chance at any depth from 0 to 255. JEI lists each ore with its depths and lens.
- Brown
- Iron at 5 to 68, nickel 5 to 68, aluminum 68 to 84. In the Nether, ancient debris at 1 to 20.
- Orange
- Copper at 35 to 65.
- Yellow
- Gold at 5 to 32, or 32 to 80 in badlands. Sulfur 5 to 10, yellorite 16 to 68. In the Nether, glowstone at 7 to 117.
- Red
- Redstone at 5 to 16, ruby and cinnabar 30 to 70.
- Blue
- Lapis at 13 to 34, sapphire 30 to 70. With Industrial Foregoing Souls, echo shards in the Deep Dark at -64 to 20.
- Light blue
- Diamond and platinum at 5 to 16.
- Lime
- Emerald at 5 to 29 in mountain biomes. In the Nether, uranium at 5 to 29.
- Light gray
- Osmium at 5 to 36, fluorite 15 to 30, tin 64 to 96.
- Gray
- Silver at 10 to 40.
- Purple
- Lead at 10 to 40. In the End, draconium at 60 to 95.
- White
- Nether quartz at 7 to 117 in the Nether. In the End, iridium at 5 to 68.
- Black
- Coal at 5 to 132. In the End, tungsten at 20 to 70.
- Green
- Peridot at 30 to 70.
- Ad Astra
- Desh on the Moon with orange, ostrum on Mars with purple, calorite on Venus with red, all at 0 to 80. Moon cheese ore on the Moon with yellow, 0 to 192.
ATM10 adds the Allthemodium metals, and they take a pickaxe in a lens slot instead of a lens. Each pickaxe adds 8, one per slot, up to six.
- Raw Allthemodium
- Base in a Deep Dark biome, depth 2 to 20, with Allthemodium Pickaxes. It starts at weight 4.
- Raw Vibranium
- Base in a Crimson or Warped Forest, depth 100 to 123. Its weight starts at 0, so nothing comes out without a Vibranium Pickaxe. The same pickaxes raise glowstone dust, which starts at 99, so expect mostly glowstone.
- Raw Unobtainium
- Base in the End Highlands, depth 30 to 60, with Unobtainium Pickaxes; weight 0 without them. Obsidian starts at 90 there, and purple lenses favour it and Raw Azure Silver.
The Fluid Laser Base has one lens slot, and the lens decides the fluid. It holds 32,000 mB.
- Ether gas
- Purple lens, with the base right on top of a Wither, any depth: 10 mB a batch, and the Wither takes five damage each time. In ATM10 a shiny wither gives 40 mB.
- Lava
- Orange lens, in the Nether, depth 5 to 20: 100 mB a batch.
- Crude oil
- Black lens, in an ocean or desert biome, depth 20 to 60: 50 mB a batch.
- Ad Astra oil
- Gray lens, same places and depths: 50 mB a batch.
Mob farming: Crusher, Duplicator and essence
Essence is Industrial Foregoing's liquid experience. The Mob Crusher makes it, the Mob Duplicator spends it, and the enchanting machines run on it.
- Mob Crusher
- Kills the mobs in the area behind it as if a player did, keeps their loot and turns their experience into essence, 20 mB per point. Its other mode makes no essence and gives each kill a random Looting level from 0 to 3. Baby animals are spared.
- Mob Imprisonment Tool
- Plastic around a ghast tear. Right-click a mob to store it, right-click the ground to let it out. It holds one mob and cannot take players or bosses.
- Mob Duplicator
- Spawns copies of the mob in its Mob Imprisonment Tool into the space above it, up to four a cycle for 5,000 FE. Each copy costs the mob's health times 12 mB of essence, so a 20 health mob costs 240 mB. It waits while more than 32 of that mob are in its area.
- Sewer
- Collects sewage from animals on top of it and turns experience orbs there into essence.
- Resourceful Furnace
- Three furnaces in one that also makes essence, 20 mB per point of experience each smelt is worth.
In ATM10 a copy is a fresh mob of the same kind: the server does not allow exact copies, so copies do not keep the stored mob's name or gear. ATM10 also blacklists a set of mobs: bosses, every Ice and Fire creature, every shiny mob, Occultism spirits, Productive Bees bees and a few others. The Duplicator will not copy them, and the Crusher hits them for 75 damage a cycle instead of killing them outright.
Essence also runs the enchanting machines. The Enchantment Extractor pulls enchantments off items onto books or into essence, the Enchantment Applicator works like an anvil paid in essence, and the Enchantment Factory enchants an item at level 30.
Pink slime and ether gas
Much of the mod waits on pink slime: the Advanced frame needs 500 mB, the Infinity Drill, Saw, Hammer, Trident and Launcher 2,000 mB each, and every tier 3 addon 3,000 mB. In ATM10 it also makes the Unobtainium-Vibranium Alloy Ingot: four Pink Slime, a vibranium ingot, an unobtainium ingot and two Piglich Hearts, with 100 mB of soul lava, in the Dissolution Chamber.
- Build a Mob Slaughter Factory on a Pity frame. It grinds the mobs in the area behind it into fluids, with no drops and no experience.
- Feed it animals. An animal gives 20 mB of pink slime per point of health and a little liquid meat; any other mob gives mostly meat and very little slime.
- Keep animals coming with a Mob Duplicator holding one, or an Animal Feeder breeding them.
- For the item, put a glass pane and 300 mB of the fluid in the Dissolution Chamber: one Pink Slime and 150 mB of water come out.
Nine Pink Slime make a Pink Slime Block, which bounces like a slime block. In ATM10 the block also comes from plain glass and 2,700 mB of pink slime in the Dissolution Chamber. Productive Bees gives a second road: a Pink Slime fed to a Slimy bee turns it into a Pink Slimy bee, whose combs spin into 100 mB of pink slime each in a centrifuge.
Ether gas comes from a Wither. Put a Fluid Laser Base with a purple lens right on top of one and charge it with Laser Drills: each batch gives 10 mB and deals the Wither five damage. A Stasis Chamber under the Wither freezes it and slowly heals it, for as long as the chamber has power. A Wither Builder builds Withers from three wither skeleton skulls and four soul sand. Ether gas makes the Supreme frame and the Mycelial Reactor, lets farms replant on their own, and is the catalyst for the Fermentation Station's best setting. A Pink Slimy bee given an ether gas bucket becomes an Ether Gas bee, whose combs give 10 mB each.
Power: biofuel and the Mycelial Reactor
- Pitiful Generator
- Burns furnace fuel for 30 FE/t in ATM10. It keeps burning when its buffer is full, so it wastes fuel.
- Bioreactor
- Turns water and plant matter into biofuel. It has nine slots, one kind of item each: crops, seeds, saplings, mushrooms, dyes, skulls and sweet berries. Each cycle uses one item from every filled slot, and more kinds pay far better: one kind makes 95 mB, nine kinds 3,719 mB.
- Biofuel Generator
- 160 FE/t in ATM10, burning 1 mB of biofuel every 4 ticks, so 640 FE per mB. It stops burning while its buffer is full.
- Mycelial Reactor
- 25,000,000 FE/t while one of each of the sixteen Mycelial Generators you placed is running at the same time. A Supreme machine, made with 500 mB of ether gas.
Each Mycelial Generator burns something different, from pink items to potions, rockets and nether stars, and runs on its own too. Oritech's Fuel Generator also burns biofuel, and Infinity tools burn it before their stored power.
Infinity tools and the Infinity Charger
Infinity tools run on power stored in them, and the more they hold, the higher the tier you can pick. With biofuel inside they use that first. Sneak and right-click to open a tool's window and choose its tier. Drops go straight to your inventory.
- Poor
- No power needed. 1 by 1.
- Common
- 4,000,000 FE. 3 by 3.
- Uncommon
- 16,000,000 FE. 5 by 5.
- Rare
- 80,000,000 FE. 7 by 7.
- Epic
- 480,000,000 FE. 9 by 9.
- Legendary
- 3,360,000,000 FE. 11 by 11.
- Artifact
- 13 by 13 and 13 deep, set at the largest number the game can store, so Legendary is the real top.
- Infinity Drill
- Mines the tier's square, one block deep.
- Infinity Saw
- Fells trees, more logs at once at higher tiers. On a big tree keep breaking the same block.
- Infinity Hammer
- Hits every enemy in an area, and higher tiers behead them for mob heads. Right-click the ground to shatter a cone in front of you.
- Infinity Trident
- Higher tiers add Loyalty, Riptide and Channeling, and its hits and lightning land in an area.
- Infinity Backpack
- Each slot holds 2,048 items at Poor and eight times more each tier. It carries biofuel, essence from experience it picks up and liquid meat that feeds you, with a magnet and auto-pickup.
- Infinity Launcher
- Catches and releases mobs at range with the Mob Imprisonment Tools in your inventory.
- Infinity Nuke
- Switched off on our server: it can't be crafted, and one you already have does nothing.
The drill, saw, hammer, trident and launcher are made in the Dissolution Chamber with 2,000 mB of pink slime, a tier 11 Range Addon, three gold gears, diamond blocks and diamond tools; the trident also takes a trident, and the launcher a bow and a Mob Imprisonment Tool. The backpack is crafted from two chests, two buckets, an ender pearl, a diamond gear and three gold gears. An Infinity Charger holds a trillion FE and charges Infinity tools very fast.
Farms, ore processing, Souls and the rest
- Plant Gatherer
- Chops trees and harvests crops in its area, making a little sludge each time. With a trickle of ether gas it replants.
- Plant Sower
- Plants seeds and saplings. Its nine coloured slots match the nine coloured squares of its area.
- Plant Fertilizer
- Uses bone meal or Fertilizer on one plant until it can take no more, so it can stick on sunflowers.
- Hydroponic Bed
- Grows the crop on it faster with power and water, or lava for Nether crops. With ether gas it also harvests and replants, and 1 mB lasts 200 actions.
- Simulated Hydroponic Bed
- Grows a crop without planting it, from what a Hydroponic Simulation Processor learned in a Hydroponic Bed. No water or ether needed.
- Animals
- The Animal Rancher shears and milks, the Animal Feeder breeds (it stops at 35 animals in ATM10), and the Animal Baby Separator moves babies behind it.
- Ore processing
- A Washing Factory turns an ore and liquid meat into raw ore meat, a Fermentation Station multiplies it, and a Fluid Sieving Machine sieves it with sand into dust. Fermenting gives 2x in 5 seconds, 3x in 45, 4x in 2 minutes with pink slime and 5x in 5 minutes with ether gas.
- Material StoneWork Factory
- A cobblestone generator that can smelt, crush or craft what it makes. ATM10 adds cobbled deepslate to its list.
- Transport
- Conveyor Belts carry items, mobs and fluids; glowstone speeds them up and plastic stops them picking items up. Item and Fluid Transporters move things between inventories one block apart.
Industrial Foregoing Souls speeds machines up. A Soul Laser Base with a blue lens draws souls from a Warden under it, four each time for 12 damage; in ATM10 it keeps going until the Warden dies, so heal it with a Stasis Chamber. It stores 1,500 souls. Soul Pipes carry them to Soul Surges: place a surge on the face of the block you want faster, and each soul gives that block 200 ticks of four extra ticks a tick. A redstone signal pauses it.
ATM10 makes all three in the Dissolution Chamber. The Soul Laser Base takes two plastic, two Supreme frames, two netherite gears, a sculk shrieker and a sculk catalyst with 1,000 mB of Unstable Portal Fluid. Four Soul Surges take two plastic, two Simple frames, three echo shards and a sculk shrieker with 20 mB of it. Thirty-two Soul Pipes take four plastic, two iron gears and two echo shards with 20 mB of pink slime.
Black Hole Units, Black Hole Tanks and the Black Hole Controller were removed from Industrial Foregoing before this version, and its author points to Functional Storage, which ATM10 has: start with a drawer.
Questions
How do I get pink slime in ATM10?
Put animals in the area behind a Mob Slaughter Factory: each gives 20 mB of pink slime per point of health. A Mob Duplicator or Animal Feeder keeps them coming. For the item, run a glass pane and 300 mB of the fluid through the Dissolution Chamber. Pink Slimy bees from Productive Bees are another source, 100 mB per comb.
How do I get ether gas?
Put a Fluid Laser Base with a purple lens right on top of a Wither and charge it with Laser Drills. Each batch gives 10 mB and costs the Wither five health, so stand the Wither on a powered Stasis Chamber to freeze and heal it.
Why is my Laser Drill doing nothing?
Check that the base sits in the 3 by 3 by 3 space centred two blocks behind the drill and that the drill has power. An Ore Laser Base needs 100 points per item at one point per drill every 2.5 seconds, so a single drill takes just over four minutes for each item. A Fluid Laser Base also needs the right lens, dimension, biome and depth, and both stop when their output is full.
How do I get vibranium, allthemodium or unobtainium from the Laser Drill?
Put pickaxes of that metal in the Ore Laser Base's lens slots. Allthemodium: Deep Dark, depth 2 to 20. Vibranium: Crimson or Warped Forest, depth 100 to 123. Unobtainium: End Highlands, depth 30 to 60. Vibranium and unobtainium give nothing without the pickaxes.
Why won't my Mob Duplicator spawn anything?
It needs a Mob Imprisonment Tool with a mob, power and enough essence for one copy: the mob's health times 12 mB. It waits while more than 32 of that mob are around, and in ATM10 it refuses bosses, shiny mobs, Ice and Fire creatures and a few others.
How do I make plastic?
Drain latex from logs with a Fluid Extractor, turn 750 mB of latex and 500 mB of water into Dry Rubber in a Latex Processing Unit, then smelt the Dry Rubber.
Where are the Black Hole Units?
They were removed from Industrial Foregoing before the version ATM10 runs. Use Functional Storage drawers instead.
