What to build first

Every Farm & Charm dish comes out of one of these.

Crafting Bowl

A stick on top, wooden slabs around an iron ingot, three slabs below. Mixes butter, dough, salads and pet food. See Crafting Bowl.

Mincer

Four iron nuggets and two planks above three iron ingots. Grinds grain into flour, meat into cuts, and ores into extra raw metal. See Mincer.

Stove

Three iron ingots, five bricks and a campfire. An oven with three ingredient slots and a fuel slot; every recipe takes 12 seconds. See Stove.

Cooking Pot

Five iron ingots and a wooden shovel. Six ingredient slots and a container slot for the bowl or bottle; 45 seconds a dish. See Cooking Pot.

Roaster

Three iron nuggets over five iron ingots. A pan for meat and breakfast dishes, six ingredient slots, 45 seconds a dish. See Roaster.

Wooden Silo

Nine planks make two. Dries bone meal and rotten flesh into fertilizer and grain for Brewery. See Wooden Silo.

The Cooking Pot and the Roaster have no fuel slot. They cook while the block under them is a Stove, a campfire, a magma block, a block of redstone or Farmer's Delight's stove, so the usual kitchen is a Stove with a pot on top. Farmer's Delight has its own Cooking Pot with other recipes; the two are different blocks.

The crops and where to find them

Every crop starts as a wild plant. Break one by hand for two to five of the crop, and sometimes a seed; shears pick up the plant itself.

Barley

Wild Barley grows by rivers, in plains and in savannas. One Barley crafts into three Barley Seeds.

Oats

Wild Oat grows in meadows and taigas. Two wheat seeds and two bone meal also craft into two Oat Seeds.

Corn

Wild Corn grows in plains, savannas and badlands, beside wild tomatoes. One Corn crafts into three Corn Kernels, which you plant.

Strawberries

Wild Strawberries grow almost everywhere green. A Strawberry crafts into one seed, and a ripe plant is picked with a right-click.

Cabbage, tomatoes, onions

Wild Cabbage and Wild Onions grow in plains, meadows, forests and taigas, Wild Tomatoes in plains, savannas and badlands. On Homestead they drop Farmer's Delight's Cabbage, Tomato and Onion.

Carrots, potatoes, beetroot, wheat

Wild Carrots, Wild Potatoes, Wild Beetroots and Wild Emmer drop the vanilla carrot, potato, beetroot and wheat.

Nettle and ribwort

Wild Nettle and Wild Ribwort are flowers of forests and swamps. Two of either in a Cooking Pot with water make a tea.

Barley, oats, corn and wheat all count as grain here: each grinds into flour and goes into horse fodder and chicken feed. Rabbits and foxes eat strawberries, so they follow you when you hold some.

Making crops grow faster

Fertilizer

Works like bone meal. Dry Bone Meal or Rotten Flesh in a silo for one each, or grind rotten flesh in the Mincer. See Fertilizer.

Compost

Four fertilizer, ten uses. It only works on Farm & Charm's cabbage and onion crops: each use grows two to six of them in a five by five patch and can make ripe ones Big. See Compost.

Fertilized Soil

Nine fertilizer, or podzol dried in a silo. Hit it with a Pitchfork and it sinks a layer and bone-meals plants within five blocks; four hits use it up. See Fertilized Soil.

Fertilized Farmland

Till a full Fertilized Soil block with a hoe. It bone-meals the crop on it from time to time and cannot be trampled. See Fertilized Farmland.

Water Sprinkler

Iron, planks and a water bucket. Set on the same layer as your crops, it waters all farmland up to eight blocks away on every side. See Water Sprinkler.

Rain

While it rains on a crop, each growth tick has an extra one in four chance to move it a stage, more in a thunderstorm.

Farm & Charm's own cabbage and onion crops can turn Big, then Giant, when you use Compost on them ripe with water nearby, and then drop up to eight. Craft a cabbage into three of Farm & Charm's Cabbage Seeds to plant one; on Homestead it still drops Farmer's Delight cabbages.

How to use the Mincer, and what it grinds

• Right-click the Mincer with a stack. The whole stack goes in.
• Right-click it with an empty hand to turn the crank. About two turns grind one item, and the result pops out.
• Keep cranking until the stack is gone. Sneak and right-click to take back what is left.

Grain into flour

One wheat, barley, oat or corn gives four Flour.

Meat into cuts

Porkchop gives two Raw Bacon, chicken three Raw Chicken Cuts, beef one Minced Beef, mutton one Raw Mutton Chops. On Homestead these are Farmer's Delight's items.

Ores

Iron and gold ore give three raw metal each, copper ore five (six from deepslate), redstone and lapis ore five (six from deepslate), emerald ore two (three from deepslate). Mine the ore with Silk Touch to grind it.

Everything else

A bone gives five bone meal, Wheat Dough two Raw Pasta, an ingot nine nuggets, a horse armour its metal back, a log its stripped log, stone cobblestone, a melon nine slices.

Drying in the Silo

Silos placed against each other join into one, up to three wide and nine high. Each item dries in ten seconds and stays inside until you open the silo.

• Right-click the silo with the items to dry. A stack spreads over the free spaces.
• Wait ten seconds per item.
• Right-click it with an empty hand to open it. Dried items fall out of the front until you close it again.

Bone meal or rotten flesh

One Fertilizer each.

Podzol

One Fertilized Soil.

Any wild crop

One bone meal.

Barley, oat, corn, wheat

Dried Barley, Dried Oat, Dried Corn and Dried Wheat, for Let's Do Brewery's beers and whiskeys.

The Copper Silo is eight copper ingots around a Wooden Silo and works the same.

Butter, yeast, flour and dough

Butter

A milk bucket in the Crafting Bowl gives four Butter. Most roaster dishes need it.

Yeast

Sugar, a water bucket and wheat in the Cooking Pot, with an empty bowl in the container slot, give 12 Yeast.

Flour

Grind grain in the Mincer. Homestead also makes Flour and Create's Wheat Flour craft into each other, and a mortar and pestle grinds wheat into four Create flour.

Wheat Dough

Flour, yeast and a water bucket in the Crafting Bowl give five. On Homestead this is Farmer's Delight's Wheat Dough.

Every water bucket slot here also takes Meadow's wooden water bucket and the Bater Wucket. The bowl works the same way for all of these: put the ingredients in one by one, then right-click it with an empty hand until the stirring is done. Bakery's cakes and breads are made from these, see the Caking Station.

Put the container in its slot or nothing cooks. Each dish takes 45 seconds.

Simple Tomato Soup

Two tomatoes and sugar, in a bowl.

Onion Soup

Any bread and two onions, in a bowl.

Potato Soup

A potato and an onion, in a bowl.

Barley Soup

Two barley, a water bucket and an egg, in a bowl.

Corn Grits

Two corn and flour, in a bowl.

Goulash

An onion, cooked beef, a Simple Tomato Soup, a carrot and a potato. No container.

Yeast

Sugar, a water bucket and wheat, with a bowl, for 12.

Strawberry Tea

A water bucket and two strawberries, in a glass bottle. Gives Haste.

Nettle Tea

A water bucket and two wild nettles, in a glass bottle. Gives Instant Health.

Ribwort Tea

A water bucket and two wild ribworts, in a glass bottle. Gives Regeneration.

Bakery's jams and several Candlelight and Brewery dishes cook in the same pot.

Roaster recipes

No container is needed. Each dish takes 45 seconds over heat.

Bacon and Eggs

Two raw bacon, two eggs and butter give three.

Chicken Wrapped in Bacon with Noodles

Raw bacon, raw chicken cuts, raw pasta and butter.

Sausage with Oat Patty

Oat, butter, a potato, a carrot and two minced beef give two.

Mutton with Corn

A carrot, corn, raw mutton chops and butter.

Beef Patty with Vegetables

Raw beef, a carrot, butter, a potato, a beetroot and a cabbage give two.

Barley Patty with Potatoes

Two barley, a potato, butter, an egg and a cabbage give two.

Cooked Cod

A carrot, a cabbage, a raw cod and butter.

Cooked Salmon

Corn, a cabbage, a raw salmon and butter.

Oat Pancake

Three oats, Wheat Dough, butter and a strawberry give three. A stack you place on a table.

Stove recipes and placed dishes

The Stove burns any furnace fuel and bakes in 12 seconds. Most of its dishes can be placed with a sneak-click and eaten from the table a serving at a time.

Farmers Bread

Wheat Dough and a water bucket give three.

Grandma's Strawberry Cake

Wheat Dough, a strawberry and sugar give two.

Roasted Corn

Two corn and butter.

Stuffed Chicken

An onion, a raw chicken and a carrot.

Stuffed Rabbit

An onion, a raw rabbit and a carrot.

Baked Mutton Chops

A cabbage and raw mutton chops.

Potato with Roast Meat

A potato, raw beef and a honey bottle give two.

Roasted Chicken

Raw pasta, raw chicken cuts and a carrot give three.

Pasta with Onion Sauce

Two onions and raw pasta give four.

Bread

Three wheat give three bread.

Farmer's Breakfast is crafted in a grid from any bread, a Bacon and Eggs and a Roasted Corn. The other two bowl dishes are Farmer Salad (tomato, onion, cabbage and strawberry) and Oatmeal with Strawberries (milk, oat and strawberry), both stirred in the Crafting Bowl.

Which food is best

Hunger points as our server's config sets them (a drumstick is two), and what each one gives:

Farmer's Breakfast

Twelve, and Farmer's Blessing for eight minutes, which clears every bad effect while it lasts.

Stuffed Rabbit and Stuffed Chicken

Nine for the rabbit, eight for the chicken, with Feast for eight minutes.

Chicken Wrapped in Bacon with Noodles

Nine, with Sustenance for five minutes.

Goulash

Eight, with Satiation for five minutes.

Baked Mutton Chops

Eight, with Feast for four minutes.

Sausage with Oat Patty

Eight, with Sweets for two minutes.

Mutton with Corn

Eight, with Satiation for three minutes.

Farmer Salad, Cooked Cod, Cooked Salmon

Seven each, with four minutes of Satiation or Sustenance.

Onion Soup and the other soups

Five to seven, with Rested, which raises the experience you gain.

Grandma's Strawberry Cake

Four, with Grandma's Blessing: Farmer's Blessing plus two Luck.

Sustenance gives one hunger point every ten seconds, or half a heart when you are full. Satiation slows how fast you get hungry. Feast is both at once.

Animals: troughs, coops, fodder and carts

Feeding Trough

Right-click it with wheat seeds, beetroot seeds, carrots or potatoes, up to four times. Adult animals within eight blocks walk over, eat and breed. See Feeding Trough.

Chicken Coop

Lead a chicken to it and right-click: it holds three and keeps up to nine eggs for you. A Pitchfork lets them out. See Chicken Coop.

Chicken Feed

Grain, carrots and wheat seeds. A fed chicken lays eggs and drops feathers more often for a minute. See Chicken Feed.

Horse Fodder

Grain, apples and a carrot. It tames a wild horse at once; a tamed one heals five hearts and gets more speed and jump for five minutes. See Horse Fodder.

Cat Food and the Pet Bowl

Cat Food makes taming a cat likelier. A Pet Bowl takes it and Farm & Charm's own Dog Food; the Crafting Bowl makes Farmer's Delight's on Homestead, so convert it first.

Plow

Right-click it to hitch it to yourself and walk. It tills grass and dirt two blocks wide and harvests ripe crops it passes, replanting them. See Plow.

Supply Cart

A 27-slot chest on wheels you pull the same way. See Supply Cart.

Dungarees

Leggings that stop you trampling farmland and show how fed animals are. A Farmer villager sells them for 16 emeralds. See Dungarees.

What Homestead changes

Homestead runs Cozy Studios' Ultimate Compat Mod, which settles the items Farm & Charm and Farmer's Delight both add. These Farm & Charm items are hidden, and Farmer's Delight's are the ones every recipe takes:

• Cabbage, tomato and onion, and the cabbage and tomato seeds.
• Bacon, chicken cuts, mutton chops and minced beef, which the Mincer now gives as Farmer's Delight's.
• Wheat Dough and raw pasta, which the Crafting Bowl and the Mincer now make as Farmer's Delight's.
• Dog food, rotten tomato, and Bacon and Eggs.

If you end up with one of the hidden items, a Compat Workbench turns it into the other mod's. A crafting table in the middle of planks and sticks makes one. The pack's own scripts also make Flour and Create's Wheat Flour interchangeable and let the Bater Wucket count as water.

The Seasoned and Settled quest chapter

Farm & Charm and Candlelight share a chapter of 53 quests in the quest book. The first ones pay out the farming kit:

• "Harvest Valley": eight each of potatoes, carrots, onions, tomatoes and strawberries, for a Pitchfork and an iron hoe.
• "Watching Grass Grow": five Fertilized Soil and a Plow, for six iron ingots and 32 fertilizer.
• "Stirring Success": a Crafting Bowl, for five butter and five yeast.
• "Turn Up The Heat": a Stove, a Roaster and a Cooking Pot, for two Toolracks and 250 XP.
• "On The Grind" asks for flour, raw pasta and a Mincer; "A Song of Silos" for four Wooden Silos, and gives two Copper Silos.
• Then one quest per dish, Farm & Charm's and Candlelight's, ending with the Tropical Fish Supreme.

The Scarecrow

The Scarecrow is the mod's reward for cooking everything. The advancement "Masterchef Manifest" gives two, with 800 XP, once you have held all 30 of its dishes, the three teas included.

Placed, it gives every growing crop within eight blocks an extra growth tick every 25 seconds. A barley bale and sticks around one Scarecrow craft two.
