Generator Galore

Adds a variety of configurable generators.
Generator Galore adds simple blocks that burn one kind of fuel and make FE. On To The Sky the Iron Generator is the first one you can build and every other tier grows out of it: seven iron ingots, a furnace and a block of redstone give you 80 FE/t from charcoal or anything else a furnace burns. The Copper, Gold, Diamond, Emerald and Obsidian generators and all the upgrade items have no recipe on our server.

Your first generator on the island
The Iron Generator is crafted straight from a furnace on To The Sky, with no copper generator before it. It burns any furnace fuel, so a tree farm and a furnace for charcoal keep it running.
- Get seven Iron Ingots, a Furnace and a Block of Redstone.
- Craft it: iron ingots in the top row and down both sides, the furnace in the middle and the redstone block in the bottom middle.
- Place it against the machine or cable you want to power. It pushes power into every block touching it, on all six sides.
- Put fuel in its slot: Charcoal or Coal gives 128,000 FE over 80 seconds, a Block of Coal ten times that.
- Keep a pipe or hopper feeding it fuel. It only lights the next item when it has room for the power.
On our server the Iron Generator makes more per tick than the Gold and Diamond generators are set to here (80 FE/t against 32 and 64), which is why the pack builds every later generator from it.
How every generator works
- Each generator has an internal buffer, a fuel slot and a charge slot. An item that holds FE in the charge slot gets charged from the buffer.
- It sends power to every block next to it that accepts FE, up to its transfer rate into each one. No wrench or setting is needed.
- A solid fuel is lit only when the buffer is under half full or the whole item's power fits in it.
- Once lit, a fuel burns to the end. Power that does not fit in a full buffer is lost, so give it somewhere to go.
- Fuel can be piped into any side. The fluid generators take their fluid from pipes or from a right-click with a filled bucket, into a 10,000 mB tank.
- Breaking a generator drops it and the items in its slots. The energy in its buffer is lost.
Every generator on To The Sky
Rates, buffers and outputs below are from the server's own config files, for the single block. The recipes are To The Sky's.
- Iron Generator
- Any furnace fuel at 80 FE/t. Buffer 20,000 FE, pushes up to 240 FE/t. Seven iron ingots, a furnace and a block of redstone. See Iron Generator.
- Culinary Generator
- Any food, at 8 FE/t for each hunger point it restores; more saturation burns longer. Buffer 100,000 FE, pushes 256 FE/t. Seven crops, an Iron Generator and a Hay Bale. See Culinary Generator.
- Ender Generator
- Only Ender Pearls (192 FE/t for 80 seconds, 307,200 FE) and Eyes of Ender (160 FE/t for 160 seconds, 512,000 FE). Buffer 500,000 FE, pushes 512 FE/t. Seven ender pearls, an Iron Generator and a block of redstone. See Ender Generator.
- Enchantment Generator
- Enchanted books and enchanted items at 80 FE/t. Higher levels and rarer enchantments burn longer, and you get the book or item back without its enchantments. Buffer 1,000,000 FE, pushes 2,048 FE/t. Five Golden Carrots, an Iron Generator, a bookshelf and two obsidian. See Enchantment Generator.
- Magmatic Generator
- Lava at 160 FE/t, using 0.6 mB a tick: a bucket lasts about 83 seconds and gives about 266,000 FE. Buffer 500,000 FE, pushes 2,048 FE/t. Five gold ingots, two glass, a furnace and a block of redstone. See Magmatic Generator.
- Netherite Generator
- Any furnace fuel at 512 FE/t, burning it at 0.4 times its furnace time: coal gives 327,680 FE over 32 seconds. Buffer 1,000,000 FE, pushes 2,048 FE/t. Five Netherite Ingots, an Iron Generator, a Block of Charcoal and two obsidian. See Netherite Generator.
- Honey Generator
- Liquid honey at 128 FE/t; a bucket lasts about two minutes and gives about 320,000 FE. Buffer 500,000 FE, pushes 512 FE/t. Five Honey Blocks, a Culinary Generator, two buckets and a block of redstone. See Honey Generator.
- Potion Generator
- Potions, splash and lingering ones included. Buffer 250,000 FE, pushes 1,024 FE/t. Five pink dyed blocks or items, a Culinary Generator, two Brewing Stands and a block of redstone. See Potion Generator.
- Halitosis Generator
- Only Dragon's Breath: 256 FE/t for 10 minutes, 3,072,000 FE a bottle. Buffer 9,800,000 FE, pushes 16,384 FE/t. Seven amethyst shards, an Ender Generator and an End Rod. See Halitosis Generator.
- Netherstar Generator
- Nether Stars at 8,184 FE/t; a star lasts 2 minutes and gives 19,641,600 FE. Buffer 20,000,000 FE, pushes 32,768 FE/t. Seven wither skeleton skulls, a Netherite Generator and a Nether Star Block. See Netherstar Generator.
How much power a fuel gives
A solid fuel burns for its furnace time multiplied by the generator's consumption, at the generator's rate. In the Iron Generator (80 FE/t, full furnace time):
- Planks or a log
- 15 seconds, 24,000 FE.
- Coal or charcoal
- 80 seconds, 128,000 FE.
- Block of coal
- About 13 minutes, 1,280,000 FE.
- Lava bucket
- About 17 minutes, 1,600,000 FE. The empty Bucket stays in the fuel slot until you take it out.
The Netherite Generator burns the same fuel at 0.4 times the furnace time and 512 FE/t, so each item gives about 2.6 times as much as in an Iron Generator, much faster.
From the server's numbers, a lava bucket by hand in an Iron Generator gives about six times the energy the Magmatic Generator gets from the same 1,000 mB. The Magmatic one is for a steady pumped supply of lava, at twice the rate.
8x and 64x generators
Every generator you can build here has an 8x block, and all but the Iron one have a 64x block. A multiplied generator has 8 or 64 times the rate, buffer and output, and burns each fuel 8 or 64 times faster, so a fuel item gives the same energy in less time.
- 8x: eight of the generator around a Diamond Gear. An 8x Iron Generator makes 640 FE/t and burns a coal in 10 seconds.
- 64x: eight of the 8x block around a Netherite Gear. A 64x Netherstar Generator makes 523,776 FE/t.
- There is no 64x Iron Generator on our server.
Removed tiers and upgrades
To The Sky removes the recipes of the Copper, Gold, Diamond, Emerald and Obsidian generators and of their 8x blocks. It also removes the recipes of every upgrade item, such as the Copper to Iron Upgrade, so a generator cannot be upgraded where it stands. Build the next tier with its crafting recipe instead.
Iron Block Generator and Copper Block Generator
The Iron Block Generator and the Copper Block Generator belong to Cobble Gen Galore, another mod in the pack. They make blocks such as cobblestone and use no fuel and make no power. On To The Sky the Iron Block Generator is six iron ingots, a water bucket, a lava bucket and a Copper Block Generator.
Questions
What is the first Generator Galore generator in ATM10 To The Sky?
The Iron Generator. On To The Sky it is crafted from seven iron ingots, a furnace and a block of redstone, and makes 80 FE/t from any furnace fuel.
Why can I not craft the Copper Generator?
To The Sky removes the recipes of the Copper, Gold, Diamond, Emerald and Obsidian generators and of every upgrade. Start with the Iron Generator.
How much FE does one coal give?
128,000 FE over 80 seconds in an Iron Generator, and 327,680 FE over 32 seconds in a Netherite Generator.
Why is my generator full and still burning?
A lit fuel burns to the end and power that does not fit is lost. Put a machine, a cable or a battery next to it so the power has somewhere to go.
Is the Iron Block Generator a power generator?
No. It is from Cobble Gen Galore and makes blocks such as cobblestone.
