Eternal Starlight

A minecraft mod that adds the magical and mysterious starlight dimension.
Eternal Starlight adds the Starlight dimension: a world of twilight forests, swamps, crystal deserts and frozen peaks under a sky full of stars. You get in by beating the Gatekeeper in a ruin in the Overworld. Inside are four bosses and the materials that end in Unrealium, its best metal, which ATM10 also asks for.

Getting there
Find a Portal Ruin in the Overworld. They stand in plains and savanna, forests, jungles, deserts and badlands, and cold biomes. Each has a diamond shaped frame of eight Chiseled Voidstone and the Gatekeeper beside it.
Talk to the Gatekeeper and choose Challenge. Beat him and, the first time, he drops the Orb of Prophecy and the Glimmering Tablet, the mod's own guide. Use the orb on the frame and it opens. After you have beaten him he will also trade with you.
The orb can be crafted too: five Blue Starlight Crystal Shards and four Glass. The crystals grow in the dimension's Crystallized Desert, so that helps for a second portal, not the first. On this server you do not spawn or respawn in the dimension.
Biomes and what is in them
- Dark Swamp
- The only place with Malarite ore. Stranghouls live here in their dens, with Pungency Fruit on the vines.
- Crystallized Desert
- Lunaris Cactus, Thirst Walkers and Gleeches on top, Starlight crystals and Crystallized Moths in the caves under it.
- Permafrost Forest and Peaks
- Glacite grows in their caves. Yetis and Aurora Deer live on the surface.
- Torreya Forest
- Strip Torreya Logs with an axe for Raw Amaramber.
- Starlight Forest
- Starfire Birds nest in the tall Lunar Trees. Give their nests seeds for Starfire.
- Ether River
- Thioquartz geodes on its banks give Thioquartz Shards, and the thioquartz hides Nocturnal Millet seeds.
Hot springs in most land biomes are ringed with Springstone, and some of the rim is Thermal Springstone. Deepsilver, Starlit Diamond, Starcore and Saltpeter ore are found everywhere underground.
A Seeking Eye finds the way: use it, pick a boss structure, a structure or a biome on its star map, and it floats beside you pointing there. It works only in the Starlight dimension, and it can shatter when you call it back.
Bosses
- The Gatekeeper
- In the Overworld's Portal Ruins. His first defeat gives the Orb of Prophecy, sometimes with a Glistering weapon.
- Starlight Golem
- At the heart of a Golem Forge, underground in the forest, plains, scrubland, taiga and permafrost biomes. Its shield cannot be broken. When it overheats and stops to recharge, switch off the Energy Blocks around the room and the shield fails. A thrown Frozen Tube makes it stop sooner.
- Permafrost
- In another room of the Golem Forge. It drops the Coldsnap, 5 to 12 Oxidized Golem Steel Nuggets and 12 to 18 Frozen Tubes.
- Lunar Monstrosity
- In the middle of a Cursed Garden, a hedge maze full of Tangled. Its skin shrugs off most weapons until you set it on fire. It drops 10 to 15 Tenacious Petals and Vines, 3 to 4 Soul Dew, the Moonring Bow, the Crescent Pendant, and three times in four the Crescent Spear.
On this server a beaten boss leaves its loot in a chest and comes back after 30 minutes, so each one can be farmed. Every boss also rolls five to eight extra items, among them Deepsilver, Thermal Springstone, Glacite and Aethersent.
Materials
- Deepsilver
- Ore everywhere underground. Raw Deepsilver smelts into a Deepsilver Ingot. This is the mod's silver; Stranghouls fear silver weapons.
- Malarite
- A gem from the Dark Swamp's ore. Tools, the spear, poison arrows, and an Unrealium ingredient.
- Starlit Diamond
- Starlit Diamond ore is found everywhere underground. Diamond-like tools and armor.
- Starcore
- Starcore ore drops one or two. It goes into the Aetherstrike Rocket and the Starfire upgrade.
- Thermal Springstone
- From hot spring rims. It smelts into Thermal Springstone Ingots.
- Glacite
- Grows in permafrost caves and drops Glacite Shards.
- Aethersent
- Falls from the sky in meteor showers. Raw Aethersent smelts into Aethersent Ingots.
- Amaramber
- Raw Amaramber with deepslate makes two Amaramber Ingots.
- Golem Steel
- From the Golem Forge's bosses, oxidized. Smelt it back into Golem Steel Ingots.
- Unrealium
- The top metal, made in the Alloy Furnace from four of the others. Unrealium Ingot.
Throw Starfire at Twilight Sand and it melts into flowglaze; Raw Flowglaze smelts into Flowglaze. Both upgrade gear, below.
The Alloy Furnace and Unrealium
The Alloy Furnace has no recipe. The Starlight Golem drops one, and the alloy room of a Golem Forge is built of them. Like copper they weather: wax one with Honeycomb or Raw Amaramber to keep it as it is.
It burns fuel and heats up as it works. By default it explodes after 12,000 ticks (ten minutes) of heat, with a radius of 3. Coolants slow that down: Frozen Tubes, Glacite, Ashen Snow and Blue Ice, which lasts longest.
- Unrealium Ingot
- One Deepsilver Ingot, one Golem Steel Ingot, one Malarite and one Soul Dew.
- Golem Steel Ingot
- Three Deepsilver Ingots and two Golem Steel Nuggets.
- Deepsilver
- Deepsilver ore and Saltpeter Powder give two ingots; two Raw Deepsilver and saltpeter give three.
- Iron, gold, copper
- The same doubling from ores and raw metal, with Saltpeter Powder.
- Netherite
- Four gold ingots and two Netherite Scrap give one ingot.
Tools and armor
- Unrealium
- Full tools, a crossbow and armor. The helmet stops suffocation in blocks, the chestplate stops cramming damage, and each piece mutes a sound you make: eating, getting hurt, falling and splashing, footsteps.
- Thermal Springstone
- Tools, a hammer, a scythe and armor that sets attackers on fire. The Starfire template upgrades the tools.
- Glacite
- Tools, a scythe, a shield and armor that freezes attackers. The Flowglaze template upgrades them.
- Deepsilver
- Tools and armor that make you immune to some harmful effects.
- Aethersent
- A hood, cape, bottoms and boots, made from ingots and Creteor Hide.
- Malarite
- Tools, a thrown spear and arrows that poison. The Pungency Fruit template upgrades the axe and spear.
- Starlit Diamond and Amaramber
- Plain tool and armor sets.
The three upgrade templates are found in Golem Forge and Cursed Garden chests (Starfire and Flowglaze) or bartered from Stranghouls (Pungency Fruit). To copy one, craft it with seven of its material and a core block.
What ATM10 changes
- The Chain of Souls is an ingredient of the Dragon Soul, one step toward the ATM Star.
- ATM10's Star Altar, one of its runic machines, takes a Block of Unrealium or the Lunar Monstrosity's loot bag.
- Hostile Neural Networks has data models for 16 Starlight mobs, bosses included. Their Generalized Starlight Prediction turns vanilla blocks into 16 Starlight ones, and a diamond into Raw Aethersent.
- There is no Swamp Silver in this version: its silver is Deepsilver.
